Architecture has played a role in the public representation of EU institutions. By looking at the history of EU Council family pictures - portraits taken in every summit with all the heads of state, this text traces the architectural evolution in parallel to the power narratives of the European project. The displacement from palaces and national monuments to multimedia broadcasting sets goes hand in hand with the growth and transformation of the EU from a community of countries to the largest supranational union in the world.

Transitando desde las discotecas para niños, con sesiones matinales, a las discotecas punk, donde se arrojaban animales muertos, se descubren los espacios que albergaron las expresiones públicas de tranformación social durante los años de la transición política y la eclosión del diseño barcelonés después.

A finales de la década de 1990, las políticas de salud en relación al VIH irrumpieron con fuerza en el debate público francés. En ese contexto, se aprobaron una serie de normativas para intervenir en el diseño de los clubs de sexo entre hombres. En aquel momento, el club de sexo más grande de Francia - y también de Europa - se habpia convertido en un lugar de encuentro para hombres de comunidades sociales heterogéneas. Algunos veían en la oscuridad de su interior, que sería prohibida por las nuevas normativas, una resurgencia y democratización del sexo después de los años más crudos de la crisis del SIDA.

At the turn of the millenium, HIV health politics burst into public debate in France. In this context, spatial regulations were aproved to intervene on the design of gay sex clubs. At the time, the largest gay sex club of France - and also of Europe - had become a space of encounter for men from heterogeneous social communities. Some saw in the darkness of its interior, which would be forbiden with the new regulations, a resurgence and democratization of sex after the crudest days of the HIV crisis.
