Architecture has played a role in the public representation of EU institutions. By looking at the history of EU Council family pictures - portraits taken in every summit with all the heads of state, this text traces the architectural evolution in parallel to the power narratives of the European project. The displacement from palaces and national monuments to multimedia broadcasting sets goes hand in hand with the growth and transformation of the EU from a community of countries to the largest supranational union in the world.

Transitando desde las discotecas para niños, con sesiones matinales, a las discotecas punk, donde se arrojaban animales muertos, se descubren los espacios que albergaron las expresiones públicas de tranformación social durante los años de la transición política y la eclosión del diseño barcelonés después.

In 1969 there was a frustrated terror atack against a discotheque in the mediterranean coast of Spain. The 'terrorist', judged and jailed in a court martial by Franco's dictatorial regime, provoked a turning point in the perception of the country's industry of leisure. The action unveiled a growing discontent with the neo-colonialist forms of explotation of the territory and its inhabitants, in which architecture played an important role.

En 1969 hubo un atentado frustrado contra una discoteca en la costa mediterránea de España. El 'terrorista', juzagado y emprisionado en un consejo de guerra del régimen dictatorial franquista, provocó un punto de inflexión en la percepción sobre la industria del ocio en España. La acción evidenció un creciente descontento con formas neo-colonialistas de explotación del territorio y sus habitantes, en las que la arquitectura tenía un papel relevante.
