Architecture has played a role in the public representation of EU institutions. By looking at the history of EU Council family pictures - portraits taken in every summit with all the heads of state, this text traces the architectural evolution in parallel to the power narratives of the European project. The displacement from palaces and national monuments to multimedia broadcasting sets goes hand in hand with the growth and transformation of the EU from a community of countries to the largest supranational union in the world.

Este texto repasa el boom de la discoteca como tipología arquitectónica en Barcelona. Transitando desde las discotecas para niños, con sesiones matinales, a las discotecas punk, donde se arrojaban animales muertos, se descubren los espacios que albergaron las expresiones públicas de tranformación social durante los años de la transición política y la eclosión del diseño barcelonés después.

The mirror ball was the sign of the disco era but, furthermore, it could be understood as the material expresion of the denigration of vision on the last decades of the twentieth century. The disco ball appears as a mirrored moon dancing with an artifical sun, in a ritual that deconstructs the gaze and multiplies desire. The text presents the disco ball as an instrument for the spatialization of some of the perceptual propositions emerging in deconstructive thought around the decade of 1970s.

La bola de espejos fue el símbolo de la era disco pero, además, ésta fue la expresión material de la denigración de la visión en el pensamiento deconstructivo alrededor de la década de 1970. La bola de discoteca aparece como una luna espejada que baila con un sol artificial, en un ritual que deconstruye la mirada mientras multiplica los deseos.
