Architecture has played a role in the public representation of EU institutions. By looking at the history of EU Council family pictures - portraits taken in every summit with all the heads of state, this text traces the architectural evolution in parallel to the power narratives of the European project. The displacement from palaces and national monuments to multimedia broadcasting sets goes hand in hand with the growth and transformation of the EU from a community of countries to the largest supranational union in the world.

Transitando desde las discotecas para niños, con sesiones matinales, a las discotecas punk, donde se arrojaban animales muertos, se descubren los espacios que albergaron las expresiones públicas de tranformación social durante los años de la transición política y la eclosión del diseño barcelonés después.

Comfort is a tricky concept - both related to ease and passivity. Since modern architecture brought comfort standards into architectural practice, and postwar technologies expanded techno-comfort around the world, increasing contesting voices claimed for the need to beliberated from the political analgesia brought by the imperative of spatial comfort. Should, in this context, discomfort be a weapon agains architectural social prescriptions?

El concepto de confort es tramposo - a la vez relacionado con la comodidad y la pasividad. Desde que la arquitectura moderna llevo estándares de confort a la práctica arquitectónica, y el período de postguerra expandió el tecno-confort alrededor del mundo, un creciente número de voces reclamaba ser liberadas de la analgesia política producida por el imperativo confort espacial. Debería, en este contexto, la incomodidad ser una arma contra la prescripciones sociales de la arquitectura?
