Architecture has played a role in the public representation of EU institutions. By looking at the history of EU Council family pictures - portraits taken in every summit with all the heads of state, this text traces the architectural evolution in parallel to the power narratives of the European project. The displacement from palaces and national monuments to multimedia broadcasting sets goes hand in hand with the growth and transformation of the EU from a community of countries to the largest supranational union in the world.

Transitando desde las discotecas para niños, con sesiones matinales, a las discotecas punk, donde se arrojaban animales muertos, se descubren los espacios que albergaron las expresiones públicas de tranformación social durante los años de la transición política y la eclosión del diseño barcelonés después.

This text explores the incorporation of electronic and chemical technologies into architectural design. The emergence of the discotheque as a multimedia form of architecture, proves artifical light, sound and drugs as instruments of spatial regulation. Under their effects, we leave behind the imperatives of Cartesian space, to enter a new synestesic perceptual regime.

Este texto explora la introducción de tecnologías electrónicas y químicas en el diseño arquitectónico. La aparcición de la discoteca como una forma de arquitectura multimedia, prueba el uso de luz arificial, sonido y substancias psicotrópicas como instrumentos de regulación espacial. Bajo sus efectos, dejamos atrás los imperativos del espacio cartesiano, para entrar en un nuevo régimen perceptivo sinestésico.
