Architecture has played a role in the public representation of EU institutions. By looking at the history of EU Council family pictures - portraits taken in every summit with all the heads of state, this text traces the architectural evolution in parallel to the power narratives of the European project. The displacement from palaces and national monuments to multimedia broadcasting sets goes hand in hand with the growth and transformation of the EU from a community of countries to the largest supranational union in the world.

Transitando desde las discotecas para niños, con sesiones matinales, a las discotecas punk, donde se arrojaban animales muertos, se descubren los espacios que albergaron las expresiones públicas de tranformación social durante los años de la transición política y la eclosión del diseño barcelonés después.

In mid 20th century, Herbert Marcuse claimed the need to re-eroticise the body as means towards an emancipated society. A couple of decades later, the body was making love in the abstract on the dance floor of a night club. Immersed in the synthetic sensorium of the discotheque, the experience was not that of the sexuality of a couple, but a collective sensuality that expanded affective patterns.

A medianos del siglo XX, Herbert Marcuse reclamaba la necesidad de re-erotizar el cuerpo para emancipar la sociedad. Un par de décadas después, el cuerpo hacía el amor en abstracto en la pista de baile de un club. Inmerso en el sensorium sintético de la discoteca, la experiencia no era la de una sexualidad de pareja, si no una sensualidad colectiva que expandía los patrones afectivos.
