Architecture has played a role in the public representation of EU institutions. By looking at the history of EU Council family pictures - portraits taken in every summit with all the heads of state, this text traces the architectural evolution in parallel to the power narratives of the European project. The displacement from palaces and national monuments to multimedia broadcasting sets goes hand in hand with the growth and transformation of the EU from a community of countries to the largest supranational union in the world.

Transitando desde las discotecas para niños, con sesiones matinales, a las discotecas punk, donde se arrojaban animales muertos, se descubren los espacios que albergaron las expresiones públicas de tranformación social durante los años de la transición política y la eclosión del diseño barcelonés después.

Taking the observations of Roland Barthes' on the Parisian dance club Le Palace, light and sound technologies are revealed as mediums for a new artistic practice. In the club, the performance doesn't happen in front of the public, but among it: the dancing body is both the protagonist and the audience. The architectural apparatus of the discotheque brings together the aesthetic and the social into this postmodern form of public art.

Tomando las observaciones que Roland Barthes hizo sobre el club de baile parisino Le Palace, la luz y el sonido aparecen como medios para nuevas prácticas artísticas. En el club de baile, la obra no sucede delante del público, sino en medio de este: el cuepor bailante es a la vez protagonista y audiencia. El aparato arquitectónico de la discoteca yuxtapone lo estético y lo social en esta forma posmoderna de arte público.
